Teaching
Department of Computer Science & Information Systems · BITS Pilani
An advanced course covering the foundations and frontiers of large language models — transformer architecture, pre-training, instruction tuning, RLHF, prompt engineering, evaluation, and responsible deployment. Includes hands-on projects using state-of-the-art open and closed models.
Outreach
Social Impact
We have conducted research on the impact of large language models on K-12 education in rural India, working with student volunteers to understand how AI tools are being adopted — and where gaps remain — in under-resourced educational settings. This work was published in Scientific Reports (2025) and was supported by the WISE–IIE Higher Education Consortium grant.
In partnership with The Nature Conservancy, we applied AI and ML methods to river basin management — quantifying the effects of land use and climate change on hydrology, and identifying degraded riparian corridors for targeted conservation efforts.
